CIA Releases Controversial Bay of Pigs History

Postby Bob » Fri Nov 04, 2016 4:57 pm

JFK never trusted the CIA or the Joint Chiefs again after the Bay of Pigs debacle. The plan was hatched in the Eisenhower administration and JFK was told by both Allen Dulles and Lyman Lemnitzer that the plan would be successful. We all know what happened instead.

After decades of stonewalling, the CIA finally released Volume V of its official history of the Bay of Pigs invasion, thanks to an amendment to the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act).
